Welcome to the Show, Kris Bryant

Kris Bryant has yet to find a league that he can’t conquer. Today, he starts the biggest challenge of his career as the Cubs are set to call up the highly anticipated third baseman from Triple-A Iowa.

There was loads of chatter when the power hitting phenom began the 2015 season down in the minor leagues. With Mike Olt being sidelined with a hairline fracture, it has cleared the way for the beginning of what could potentially be the Kris Bryant era. In seven games this season in Triple-A, Bryant was already batting an impressive .321. Right before the news of the callup started to make its’ round, Bryant bid what may be a final goodbye to the minors with his third homerun of the short season.

While the Cubs had yet to make an official announcement, Bryant took to Twitter himself to share his excitement.

Twitter did what it did second best (because nothing beats its’ love of trolling others) and exploded with shared excitement for the 23 year old third baseman.  How well he lives up to the hype remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain. All eyes will be on Bryant today.
