The Spurs Even Things Up: NBA Playoff Recap for April 23

The Spurs pulled out an overtime win in the most important game of the season, and head home tied with the Clippers. Elsewhere, the Hawks squeak out a win, and the Blazers look cooked.

Atlanta took a big early lead and it continued with a tight second quarter. The second half started out close and the Hawks took a lead into the fourth, while the Nets rallied in the fourth quarter but were unable to get the win. Atlanta shot a mere 38.9% from the field. Atlanta was led by Kyle Korver with 17 points, Paul Millsap with 19 points, and Al Horford with 14 points, 13 rebounds. The Nets were led by Jarrett Jack with 23 points, and Brook Lopez with 20 points.

 

Portland Trail Blazers 82 (51-31)
Memphis Grizzlies 97 (55-27)
Final

The game started out close but the Trail Blazers were outscored big in the second quarter. The second half started out close while the fourth quarter was nearly even but the Grizzlies coasted to the comfortable win. Portland shot a mere 39% from the field. Memphis was led by Courtney Lee with 18 points, Mike Conley with 18 points, and Marc Gasol with 15 points. The Trail Blazers were led by LaMarcus Aldridge with 24 points, 14 rebounds, and Robin Lopez with 10 points.

The game started out close and it remained a tight game through the second quarter. The second half started out close while the fourth quarter was nearly even. San Antonio got the win in the first overtime period. San Antonio was led by Tim Duncan with 28 points, 11 rebounds, Kawhi Leonard with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and Patty Mills with 18 points. The Clippers were led by Blake Griffin with 29 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, and Chris Paul with 21 points.
